Project Challenge
The animated series features lively, colloquial dialogue, fast scene switching and continuous multi-season updates. Ordinary translation and multimedia teams face many tough obstacles. First, raw translated scripts often read smoothly on paper but sound stiff and unnatural when dubbed. Second, fast-paced scenes leave extremely short display time for subtitles, overly long sentences lead to rushed reading and audience confusion. Third, Hong Kong and Taiwan audiences have huge differences in slang, oral habits and preferred speaking styles; simple character conversion leads to jarring wording that local viewers find uncomfortable. In addition, regular weekly updates require rapid delivery while keeping artistic style consistent across dozens of episodes.

Our Solution & Strength
LocTranslation built a dedicated multimedia localization team consisting of native Traditional Chinese editors, professional subtitle technicians and dubbing script planners who are long-time animation enthusiasts. We compiled two separate writing guidelines for Hong Kong and Taiwan versions to prevent mixed mainland-style expressions from auto-conversion.

Our editors do not only translate text; they rewrite scripts specifically for oral dubbing, trimming redundant clauses and reshaping sentence structures for smooth voice performance. Subtitle technicians strictly control character quantity for each line, repeatedly adjusting timestamps to perfectly sync subtitles with lip movements and audio playback. For weekly updated episodes, our mature MTPE workflow handles repetitive basic content efficiently, and senior linguists manually audit all core plot lines to avoid machine translation flaws. Before formal release, we conduct full preview testing to check for subtitle truncation, tone mismatch and inappropriate cultural content.

The localized subtitles and dubbed versions were officially launched smoothly in Hong Kong and Taiwan streaming platforms, with consistent language style throughout all seasons.
