Our Scope of Work
1. Complete localization for in-game UI, menu panels, combat prompts, skill tooltips and backpack system, compressing text strictly to fit fixed interface layout limits
2. Deep translation & stylized adaptation for main plots, NPC dialogue, cutscene scripts, dungeon scroll texts and world lore descriptions
3. Naming unification of all heroes, demons, runes, legendary equipment, classes and map locations, establishing exclusive long-term game terminology database
4. MTPE bulk editing for frequent seasonal patch texts and time-limited event content, supporting fast iteration of game updates
5. Cultural revision & compliance adjustment, polishing dark-style lines, localizing western allusions into regionally understandable expressions, eliminating content unsuitable for local market review standards
6. Subtitle text calibration for animated cutscenes and voice lines, matching text length with voice playback rhythm precisely

Project Challenge
Diablo features gloomy, stylized dark fantasy wording, a massive complex world setting, and long-term continuous iterative updates. Ordinary translation teams commonly face three tough problems. First, inconsistent naming of props and roles easily breaks immersive experience. Second, literal translation makes dramatic dialogue stiff and lifeless, ruining the bleak atmosphere the game intends to create. Third, HK and TW players hold completely different language habits, simple character conversion leads to awkward mainland-style phrasing, which local gamers can spot immediately. Besides, compact UI space requires highly condensed wording, and rushed seasonal updates demand both speed and stable quality control.

Our Solution & Strength
LocTranslation assembled a dedicated localization team made up of native Traditional Chinese speakers who are veteran ARPG players, familiar with Diablo’s classic tone and gaming culture. We created two independent style guides and term banks for Hong Kong and Taiwan versions respectively, completely avoiding mixed wording caused by rough automatic conversion. For delicate plot and character lines, our translators abandoned rigid word-for-word translation, restoring the cold, heavy tone consistent with Diablo’s worldview. For high-volume patch content, our mature MTPE workflow greatly shortens production cycle, while editors manually check every key description to eliminate machine translation errors. Before release, we simulate real gameplay to test all interface text, making sure no text truncation or confusing descriptions appear during actual play.

Project Outcome
The localized Diablo HK & TW versions maintained unified global terminology, natural narrative tone and stable update quality across multiple years of expansions and seasonal patches. The localized texts fit regional reading habits perfectly, gaining widespread recognition among local Diablo player communities. This long-term cooperation fully proves LocTranslation’s ability to undertake top-tier 3A blockbuster game localization projects, delivering professional, stable localization services for renowned international game manufacturers.
